The Mazda CX-30 lands in South Africa
It’s official The New Mazda CX-30 has finally touched the motherland. Mazda Southern Africa has finally added the CX-30 to its local range, with the newcomer slotting between the smaller CX-3 and the larger CX-5.
The local CX-30 line-up comprises three derivatives at launch (with a choice of 9 exterior colours)
Each powered by Mazda’s familiar naturally aspirated 2,0-litre SkyActiv-G engine, which sends 121 kW and 213 N.m to the front axle via a six-speed automatic transmission. As a reminder, this powertrain is also used in latest Mazda3 hatch and sedan line-up as well as the CX-5 range.
The CX-30 is an urban compact SUV that showcases a new era of Mazda’s design and technology through its minimalistic and elegant design cues, offering premium quality interior finishes and innovative safety technologies. The CX-30 is the second product offering of the 7th Generation vehicles to be launched and will form part of the CX SUV range locally. In terms of positioning, the CX-30 slots between the CX-3 and CX-5 and will be targeted at young professionals with small families seeking an elegant and compact SUV. The CX-30 model range will be powered by a 2.0L SKYACTIV-G engine (121kW/ 213Nm) and will only be available in automatic transmission.
