CX-60 Takumi Hybrid Coming to Umhlanga In March
The Mazda CX-60 3.3l Turbo Diesel Mild Hybrid Takumi will grace the CMH Mazda Umhlanga showroom early in March 2024.
This one is for anime fanatics. You will remember Takumi as the main character in the popular anime series Initial D.
Unlike Takumi, Mazda is no underdog in the automotive space. Although they are not known for track dominance, their cars are a reliable force, whether on or off-road.
Designers and engineers earn the Takumi title after spending decades in their craft, mastering their skills, and subsequently being dubbed Master Craftsman. A product of Mazda’s modern engineering, the Takumi is the range-topper in the CX-60 lineup.
Takumi Engine and Performance
The CX-60 Takumi boasts a new powerful engine, a 3.3l turbocharged straight 6-cylinder diesel, assisted by a mild-hybrid system. This configuration translates to a whopping 187kw and 550NM @ 1500 – 2400rpm. The new engine symbolises a significant increase from the 2.5l 4-cylinder in the Dynamic and Individual trims with 141kw and 261nm @3000 rpm output.
The engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and if it performs as well as the Dynamic and Individual models, we are in for a real treat. This vehicle features an excellent drivetrain and a sophisticated interior. Mazda remains faithful to its driver-focused interior, and as usual, all the controls that the driver requires are within easy reach.
Key Features
Some new features that stand out to me are the following:
- Body-coloured trimming.
- 20-inch Machine finish alloy wheels.
- Driver and passenger heated and ventilated seats.
In Conclusion
Just like Takumi Fujiwara defied expectations in Initial D, the Mazda CX-60 3.3l Turbo Diesel Mild Hybrid Takumi is poised to rewrite the SUV rulebook. Buckle up, Umhlanga, because this isn’t your average family car. It’s a precision-crafted machine yearning to shake the SUV segment.
Feel the power surge of a 3.3l turbocharged engine, a symphony of 187kw and 550Nm of torque pushing you back in your seat. The 8-speed automatic anticipates your every move, translating raw power into exhilarating responsiveness. The result is instant gratification for driving purists.
But the CX-60 Takumi isn’t just about brute force. Slide into the driver’s seat, a cockpit designed for control and comfort. Each touchpoint whispers quality, from the body-coloured finesse to the 20-inch Machine-finished alloy wheels that hint at the beast below. Revel in the luxury of heated and ventilated seats, adjusting to your perfect temperature as you carve through corners. The Takumi isn’t just a car. It’s an experience. A harmonious blend of power, comfort, and precision that begs for exploration.
