Change Your Wiper Blades: 3 Tips
With the rainy season approaching, it is essential to know when to change your wiper blades and maintain the roadworthiness of your vehicle. Your wiper blades and tyres are the most critical components.

But how do you know when it’s time to change your wiper blades?
Here are three signs to look out for:
- Leaving streaks on your windshield – Damaged or bent wipers become less effective at clearing your windshield of rain and other road elements. Under extreme pressure, they will eventually leave streaks where the rubber is no longer snug against your windshield.
- Squeaking noises during operation – If you hear squeaks every time you turn on your wipers, this could indicate several issues, including debris or grime build-ups, or worn or damaged rubber elements causing wiper structure to touch, and potentially damage, windshield glass.
- Ageing – Wipers spend their service life putting up with rain, road debris, bugs, and bird droppings. These harsh elements make ageing, or regular wear, inevitable, thus making replacement a priority. A general rule is to change your wipers every 6 months.
