The New Mazda BT-50 To Be Built By Isuzu – CMH Mazda Hatfield
Some thought it was rumours, but yes it is true. According to an agreement signed in July 2016 between the two companies, the fellow Japanese Manufacturer, Isuzu, will be building the next-generation Mazda BT-50. With the current model being the lovechild of Mazda’s previous relationship with Ford, it’s no wonder the Japanese were looking for a new partnership for the new BT-50.
The BT-50 will be built on an Isuzu KB platform in Japan and that the model will be exported to global markets excluding the United States. “Mazda and Isuzu have reached a basic agreement on next-generation pick-up truck collaboration, allowing Isuzu to enhance its product competiveness and Mazda to strengthen its product line-up and maintain own-brand market coverage.” read the short statement. “Mazda and Isuzu have maintained a collaborative relationship, for more than 10 years with Isuzu producing Mazda trucks for the Japanese market.” “This agreement reinforces the continues long-term relationship between the two companies”.
The next question to ask will be when this new-generation Mazda BT-50 will arrive here in South Africa? In the first quarter of 2017. We as CMH Mazda Hatfield will keep our customers informed and up to date, so stay tuned on our Social Media pages and Website, and watch this space.
